ਆਸਰਾ

(Aasra)

Support. Refuge. Comfort. Hope

Aasra is a Punjabi word meaning support, refuge, or a place to turn to in times of difficulty.

It is the heart of the counselling experience we strive to provide—a safe, compassionate, and respectful space where you can slow down, feel heard, and know you don't have to carry everything alone. We believe healing begins when we feel safe enough to be ourselves.

Our role is to walk alongside you with care and clinical expertise as you reconnect with your own strength and capacity for growth.

Refuge

Comfort

Hope

For Everyone

Open to all backgrounds, cultures, and identities.

However you got here

Before working with us . . .

Some people arrive after one conversation too many that went nowhere. Others after years of quietly managing. Some are in the middle of something acute. Others cannot quite name what is wrong. Whatever brought you here, and however long it took, you are welcome. The following might sound familiar.

You might be thinking

"Something feels off, but I can't quite name it."

It is not always one big thing. Sometimes it is the accumulation of small things. A low hum of exhaustion. A sense that life should feel easier than this. That is a real and valid place to start.

Or maybe
"I should be able to handle this on my own."
Most of our clients felt this way before they reached out. Asking for support is not a sign that something has gone wrong. It is often the most powerful decision a person can make.
THE QUIET FEAR
“Does seeking support mean that I’m not as strong as I thought?”
Actually, it's the opposite. It takes strength to notice when something is hard and reach out anyway. Real resilience isn't doing it all alone. It's knowing when to let someone in.
Or perhaps
"I'm not sure anyone will really get my situation."
Especially if your culture or background feels like context that needs explaining first. At this clinic, that context is often already understood before you begin.
AND UNDERNEATH ALL OF IT
"I just want to feel like myself again."
That is exactly what we work toward. Not a fixed version of you. Not an idealised outcome. Just more of who you actually are, with more room to breathe and live your life.

Wherever you are in that experience right now, a free 15-minute call is the simplest next step. No commitment. Just a conversation.
Who We Are

A space where you are met as a whole person,
not a presenting problem.

There is a particular kind of exhaustion that comes from feeling like you have to explain yourself before the real conversation can begin. At Aasra Wellness, we start from a different place.

Whether you are navigating anxiety, trauma, family conflict, grief, or the quiet weight of carrying too much for too long, our role is to offer something genuinely useful. Not generic. Not rushed. Therapy that takes your full context seriously.

We are a small, intentional clinic. And that is deliberate. Every client here receives care that is personal, consistent and grounded in real clinical expertise.
Core Services
We offer a range of specialized therapies, including funded programs through ICBC and CVAP. Every service is delivered with the same care, rigour, and genuine cultural understanding.
Cultural Counselling
Punjabi & South Asian Counselling
Therapy where your culture is already understood. Sessions available in Punjabi, English, or both, with no need to explain your world before the work can begin.
Children Aged 3–12
Play Therapy
When children struggle, they show us before they can tell us through their behaviour. Play therapy gives them a way to process what they are carrying, safely and at their own pace.
CVAP Funded
Crime Victim Assistance Program Counselling
Specialized trauma counselling for those affected by violent crime. We help you access your CVAP funding and focus on what actually matters. Your recovery.
icbc funded
ICBC Counselling
Psychological recovery after a motor vehicle accident. From driving anxiety to trauma and chronic pain, we support the recovery that physical treatment alone cannot reach.
